FANUC America, a global force in industrial automation, debuts the FANUC CRX 30iA food grade collaborative robot at PACK EXPO International 2024 in Chicago at Booth N-5332.The CRX 30iA food grade cobot is specifically engineered for food and beverage handling, wet environments and operations with stringent hygienic requirements.

Offering the longest reach and highest payload of any food grade cobot in the industry, this latest addition to FANUC’s food grade robots and cobots will help more food and beverage manufacturers efficiently and safely increase productivity. As with all of FANUC’s food grade robots and cobots, the CRX 30iA food grade variant is equipped with special food grade grease, finishes and features.

“We know food safety is key when it comes to food and beverage handling,” says James Cooper, General Manager of General Industry Sales and Execution for FANUC America. “All of FANUC’s food grade robots and cobots are designed to help mitigate the risk of any food safety issue and can withstand frequent cleaning while maximizing speed and versatility in food processing.”

FANUC’s CRX 30iA food grade collaborative robot features NSF-H1 food grade grease, white epoxy paint and rust/chemical-resistant plating to meet the strict sanitary regulations of food and beverage processing facilities. With its robust 30kg payload, long reach up to 1889mm and unique under flip motion, the CRX 30iA food grade variant maximizes flexibility when space is limited.

The CRX 30iA food grade collaborative robot features the Tablet Teach Pendant (TP) for quick and intuitive drag-and-drop programming. This icon-based interface allows customers even with little to no robotic experience to rapidly deploy automation. Pairing this ease of use with FANUC’s world-renowned technology, proven reliability and sensitive contact detection allows the CRX 30iA food grade cobot to work safely alongside people even in tight workspaces.

For easy palletizing operations in food and beverage plants, FANUC’s PalletTool® 3 is available with all FANUC CRXs. This user-friendly software allows operators to create and modify unit loads directly from the Tablet TP right on the floor. Users can simply input product dimensions and the software provides a list of possible pallet patterns as well as the space efficiency for each pattern.

Rated IP67, FANUC’s CRX food grade cobots are dust tight and waterproof and can operate in harsh food production environments without compromising performance. Their wrists feature a corrosion-resistant finish and their smooth surface, with a fully enclosed design using internal cable routing, makes them easy to clean. The epoxy coating is compliant with USDA Incidental Food Contact Requirements. The NSF H1 food-grade grease used is safe for incidental food contact.

Additionally, the CRX 30iA food grade cobot combines FANUC’s integrated iRvision—including 2D, 3D, bin pick, and area scanners—with rock-solid reliability, including an 8-year maintenance-free guarantee.
